The zoological collections in IICT include vertebrates and invertebrates. For the time being, only mammals, birds and amphibians collections are fully cataloged, totalizing about 1500, 5000 and 2000 records, respectively, These include the samples from field expeditions to Guinea-Bissau (1944, 1945, 1946, 1953), to Mozambique (1948, 1955) and to São Tomé and Principe.Sampling Description
Quality Control
Regular quality cycles were performed on the inserted data selected at random, starting at 5% revision rate, with increased adjustments on this rate in function of the error rate.Method steps
- Data cataloguing was originally done using Specify ver 6. The taxon authority file for mammals was downloaded from ITIS. The authority file for birds follows the IOC bird list.
