Description

MGnify is a free to use analysis platform and database of analysed microbiome sequencing projects, hosted by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). Microbiome research typically involves the study of all genomes present within a specific environment, such as soil, seawater or a human body site. Underpinned by dramatically falling DNA sequencing costs, metagenomic analyses have become increasingly mainstream. The approach can provide unique insights into the complex processes performed by environmental micro-organisms and their relationship to their surroundings, each other, and, in some cases, their host. MGnify offers an automated pipeline for the analysis and archiving of microbiome data to help determine the taxonomic diversity and functional/metabolic potential of environmental samples. Users of MGnify can submit their own data for analysis or freely browse all of the analysed public datasets held within the database. In addition, users can request analysis of any appropriate dataset found within the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA).
